Banks Peninsular Explorer

Tour highlights

Your journey begins at the doorstep of your accommodation.

From here, we will take our comfortable 10 seater van to the hippest suburb of Christchurch, Lyttleton. Here you will learn the rich history of both Māori and European and the significance of the port.

A short drive around the bays of picturesque Lyttleton Harbour and up the top of the Port Hills will provide stunning views of Christchurch city. Along the way, we will drive past Rapaki, home to the Rapaki Marae (traditional Māori meeting house).

At the top of the Port Hills we will stop at the historic ‘Sign of the Kiwi’ cafe for morning tea followed by a short guided walk along the rim of the harbour’s extinct volcano to learn about the flora, fauna and history of the area.

We will then return to your accommodation in Christchurch.
